As Partner at YL Ventures, Kirk manages our US-based evaluation of potential investments, and leads how the firm supports founders in transforming ideas into commercial execution. He plays a central role in shaping go-to-market strategy across the portfolio, working directly with CEOs to translate vision into motion and to focus attention where it matters most.
Kirk is a strategic partner to founders navigating high-stakes decisions at the earliest stages of company building. He brings analytical discipline and structured thinking to moments of ambiguity, helping teams assess tradeoffs, calibrate priorities, and move forward with conviction. His influence is reflected in how YL Ventures’ portfolio companies articulate their value, structure their motion, and prepare for scale from day one.
Kirk’s perspective was shaped by experience across both analytical and investing roles. At Cornerstone Research, he worked with global institutions on high-stakes litigation, developing a disciplined approach to understanding how systems perform under pressure. At Jump Capital, he focused on early stage fintech investments and worked closely with founding teams, refining his judgment and sharpening his instinct for what drives long-term success.
Since joining YL Ventures in 2020, Kirk has helped shape the firm’s approach to early-stage partnership. His belief that real support begins before product-market fit, and continues well beyond the initial investment, redefined how he engages with founders and how the firm builds conviction. That mindset continues to guide his work today.
Kirk holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Outside of work, he’s a lifelong Liverpool fan, a distance runner, and a dedicated reader of speculative fiction.
